Growing up, I took piano lessons. Sometimes I sang in choirs, but I didn't really like singing solo in front of people. When I learned to drive and all of a sudden had time that I got to spend completely alone in an enclosed space, that was when I realized that I didn't just occasionally like singing - I loved it.

 

I've been writing stories since before I could write, dictating them to any adult I could find. Creative nonfiction and fiction have always been my friends; my real dream is screenwriting.

 

Fashion is my quieter, secret love. I still want a lot of the clothes I "designed" when I was a teenager, making catalogs and lookbooks that I shared with almost no one. Before that, I made my own paper dolls for the same reason. My show is Project Runway, my guru is Clinton Kelly, my magazine is InStyle, and my jeans are from Loft.
